District Councils
Holding Chicago police accountable.
This is
District 20.
It includes the neighborhoods of Andersonville, Edgewater, Lincoln Square, Uptown and West Ridge.

What do District Councils do?
Each of Chicago’s twenty-two police districts has a local District Council (DC), created in 2021 as part of broader accountability reforms.
Each DC has three elected members who work as a team to uplift community concerns around policing and public safety, alternative response programs, police accountability, and more.
The first DC elections took place in 2023, so district councilors are currently finishing their first terms. None of the current District 20 councilors are running for reelection. The next DC elections will take place on February 23, 2027.
Why are we running together?
Since their creation five years ago, DCs have been most effective when the councilors work together, in solidarity. That's why we – Nassir Faulkner, Rebecca Kling, and Eric Smith – are coming together to run as the DC20 Alliance.
We all have deep community and personal connections across District 20. We are ready to work alongside District 20’s residents to transparently communicate with our constituents, elevate community concerns, and advocate for a district that is safe and thriving.
